Hi Religion Unplugged readers, Columnist Bobby Ross Jr. wrote earlier this year about the increasing popularity of faith nights at baseball games across the MLB. It coincides with other individual efforts players are making to share their faith with others — and in many ways, Texas Rangers player Evan Carter is leading the charge. Carter spoke with Ross for today’s top story, exploring his career and faith journeys. After making his MLB debut at just 21 and helping the Rangers win the World Series for the first time, Carter has struggled with injuries and been briefly demoted to the minor leagues. His faith remains strong, however, and he’s not shy about showing it. He talks about how faith has helped him personally and, through “Jesus Won” shirts, has helped him give back to his community. Welcome Back, Carter: Faith Helps Texas Rangers’ ‘Little Savior’ Overcome SetbacksEvan Carter helped the Texas Rangers win the World Series in 2023. But Carter — still just 22 — has faced multiple challenges over the past two seasons. He talked to Religion Unplugged about his journey as a ballplayer and, more importantly, as a person of deep Christian faith. “Baseball is what I do, but I try and not make it, as the cliché goes, who I am,” he said. by Bobby Ross Jr. UK To Monitor Religious Freedom In India Under New Policy Focus
