So what do we know about Chris Hipkins’ plans to see his party’s poll performance improve? We know he’s positioned the cost of living crisis as his number one priority. And to address that, we know he’s planning a policy rejig. Labour created an extensive list of projects and priorities during Ardern’s premiership, and even before her resignation it was hinted that some of these would be culled or scaled back in time for the election. Under Hipkins, this seems a certainty. At the same time, could some policies ruled out under Ardern be back on the table?”

David Livingstone was an LSD pioneer – it’s taken 50 years to restart his research Charlie Gates: “In the mid-1960s, Christchurch psychiatrist David Livingstone conducted pioneering research into the therapeutic uses of LSD. He found administering the drug to patients in carefully controlled sessions effectively supercharged psychotherapy. But his work was never pursued. Less than a year after he published his findings, a wave of moral panic around psychedelic drugs swept the world. LSD was banned in New Zealand and many other countries, and research into its therapeutic uses ground to a halt. In the last few years, however, that research has resumed in New Zealand – and a legal loophole could now make us a global leader in a fast-growing field.”
